Li Auto has initiated the delivery process for its inaugural battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, the Li Mega MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle), alongside an ambitious expansion of its supercharging station network aimed at enhancing the model’s appeal.

The company’s social media channels announced the official commencement of Li Mega deliveries.

Li Auto has been actively engaging with user feedback since the Li Mega’s launch on March 1, utilizing comments to drive further improvements, according to the company.

In response to user input, Li Auto is rolling out an upgrade program that includes a significant expansion of supercharging stations and a five-year worry-free car ownership package.

By the end of 2022, Li Auto plans to have 2,700 supercharging stations in China, providing 20,000 charging piles. This target represents an increase from the 2,000-station goal announced at the end of last month.

Looking ahead to 2024, Li Auto aims to have 2,000 supercharging stations in urban areas, offering 17,000 charging piles, and 700 supercharging stations along highways, providing 3,000 charging piles.

These charging stations are expected to cover over 60% of urban areas in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities, as well as more than 70% of national highways, enhancing the convenience of Li Auto’s electric vehicles.

“We firmly believe that only by continuing to invest in the supercharging network can more family users choose Li Auto’s pure electric products without any hassle,” the company stated.

Currently, Li Auto operates 351 supercharging stations with 1,518 charging piles, primarily located in highway service areas.

Under the five-year worry-free benefit, Li Auto is offering all Li Mega owners free maintenance for five years or 100,000 kilometers.

Even if these vehicles are sold as used cars, the five-year warranty remains valid, according to Li Auto.

Launched on March 1, the Li Mega is currently available only in the Max trim, with a starting price of RMB 559,800 yuan ($77,840), positioning it as the most expensive model in Li Auto’s current lineup.
