Li Auto delivered 29,025 vehicles in October, down 8.63% year on year, marking its second consecutive month of annual declines as the Chinese automaker accelerates product updates and expands the use of internally developed technologies.
The company released its delivery figures on Sunday. October deliveries also declined 8.78% from September’s 31,817 units, reaching their lowest monthly level since February, when Li Auto delivered 26,421 vehicles.
As of October 31, cumulative deliveries since the company’s establishment had reached 1,862,676 vehicles.
New Electric Models Support Product Refresh
Li Auto delivered more than 3,000 units of the new Li Mega in October. The latest generation of the company’s flagship battery electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) was launched on September 2, featuring a price reduction and hardware upgrades intended to strengthen demand.
The company also introduced the 2026 Li i6 on October 28, with customer deliveries beginning the following day. The updated five-seat battery electric SUV features an internally developed driver-assistance chip, a new battery and upgraded cabin equipment.
Its official starting price remains unchanged at 249,800 yuan ($37,210). Customers purchasing the vehicle on or before November 30 can receive introductory incentives that reduce the effective price to 239,800 yuan.
The updated Li i6 comes standard with the Mach M100 driver-assistance chip and a 96-kWh Lianshan 5C lithium iron phosphate battery. The rear-wheel-drive version offers a CLTC-rated range of up to 780 kilometers (485 miles).
Li Auto product line head Li Xinyang announced on October 30 that cumulative production of the Li i6 had reached 200,000 units.
The company plans to increase monthly production capacity to 20,000 units in November, with further expansion scheduled for December. At the time of the announcement, new customers faced estimated waiting periods of seven to eight weeks.
The production ramp-up and delivery performance of the updated Li i6 will be important indicators of progress in Li Auto’s battery electric vehicle business.
Expansion of In-House Battery and Software Technology
Beyond vehicle launches, Li Auto introduced its Lianshan battery, Lianshan electric drive system and a battery warranty programme in October as it expands the application of technologies developed internally.
The company is also preparing a software update for its vehicles. The OTA 9.2 rollout is scheduled to begin in November and will include the upgraded Mach VLA 2.5 system alongside refinements to artificial intelligence agent features in the vehicle cockpit.
The updates form part of Li Auto’s efforts to strengthen its software and hardware capabilities while increasing the integration of proprietary technologies across its vehicle range.
Retail Network and Charging Infrastructure Grow
Li Auto continued expanding its sales, service and charging infrastructure in China.
At the end of October, the company operated 481 retail stores across 159 cities. Its service network comprised 527 service centers and authorized service shops covering 217 cities.
Its charging network included 4,206 supercharging stations with a total of 23,163 charging stalls. Compared with the end of September, this represented an increase of 18 stations and 86 charging stalls.
The infrastructure expansion accompanies Li Auto’s broader product strategy, which combines updates to its existing range with increased investment in battery electric vehicles and internally developed technologies.
