Li Auto has unveiled its latest electric vehicle (EV) model, the Li L6, as part of its efforts to reach a wider customer base with lower prices.
The Li L6, available in both Pro and Max trims, is priced at RMB 249,800 ($34,500) and RMB 279,800, respectively, making it the least expensive model in Li Auto’s lineup. The company began accepting orders for the Li L6 at the launch event, with customers able to place a refundable deposit of RMB 5,000.
Customers who order the Li L6 between April 18 and May 5 will receive limited-time benefits totaling RMB 20,000, including a RMB 5,000 discount and other incentives.
The Li L6 is part of Li Auto’s L-series of electric vehicles, following the Li L7, Li L8, and Li L9 models. It features a lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a capacity of 36.8 kWh, offering a range of 212 kilometers in CLTC and 182 kilometers in WLTC. The model also supports fast charging, allowing for a charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes.
Powered by a dual-motor, four-drive system with a total power of 300 kW and a total torque of 529 Nm, the Li L6 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.4 seconds. The model also features a range-extender, a 1.5T four-cylinder engine that generates electricity to recharge the battery.
Li Auto originally aimed to sell 800,000 vehicles in 2024 but has revised its full-year sales forecast to between 560,000 and 640,000 units due to underperformance of the Li Mega MPV model. Despite this, the company delivered 28,984 vehicles in March, up 43.12 percent from February and 39.19 percent from the same period last year.
