Li Auto delivered 31,817 vehicles in September, down 6.29% from the same month last year and 15.56% from August. The decline follows a year-on-year rebound in August, when deliveries increased 32.07% to 37,679 vehicles.
The Chinese automaker’s cumulative deliveries reached 1,833,651 vehicles as of September 30. September’s results brought the company back to year-on-year delivery declines after August ended three consecutive months of annual declines.
Third-Quarter Deliveries Rise 7.2%
Li Auto delivered 99,964 vehicles in the third quarter, representing a 7.24% increase from the same period last year and a 1.66% increase compared with the second quarter.
For the first nine months of the year, the company delivered 293,436 vehicles, down 1.25% year on year. The decline widened from the 0.60% decrease recorded through the first eight months.
The updated Li L6 remained an important contributor to deliveries, with the extended-range SUV surpassing 10,000 deliveries in September.
Li Auto Expands Electric Vehicle Lineup
Li Auto introduced several new models during September as it expanded its battery-electric vehicle portfolio alongside its extended-range models.
The next-generation Li Mega Home electric MPV launched on September 2 at 509,800 yuan ($75,690), which is 50,000 yuan below the previous Home version.
On September 16, Li Auto launched the Li i9 Home, a new flagship electric SUV priced at 369,800 yuan. The model extends the Home version’s interior-oriented concept into the SUV segment.
Updated Li i6 Set for October Launch
Li Auto is also preparing the updated Li i6 for launch in October. The five-seat electric SUV has already become an important contributor to the company’s deliveries.
Li Auto said on September 23 that the 2026 Li i6 would launch in late October, with deliveries still scheduled to begin in early November. The company had previously planned to open reservations in late September.
The updated model will use an in-house-developed 5C battery and Mach driver-assistance chip. Li Auto said the revised launch timing is intended to reduce the waiting period between vehicle orders and deliveries.
Mach VLA 2.0 Rolls Out Through OTA Update
Li Auto also expanded the availability of its driver-assistance technology during September. The company rolled out Mach VLA 2.0 through an over-the-air update to nearly 1 million Li AD Max vehicles equipped with Nvidia Orin-X and Thor chips.
The software update adds the latest version of Li Auto’s driver-assistance system to a large installed vehicle base without requiring customers to visit a service center.
Li Auto Prepares European Expansion
Li Auto is preparing to make its European debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, where it plans to introduce the Li i6 to European customers.
For the European market, the model will be marketed as the Li 6, with sales scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter. Li Auto has not yet announced the initial European markets or local pricing.
The European launch represents another step in the company’s international expansion as it broadens its lineup beyond China.
Retail and Charging Network Expands
By the end of September, Li Auto operated 485 retail stores across 160 cities in China. Its service network consisted of 532 service centers and authorized service shops across 217 cities.
The company also operated 4,188 supercharging stations with 23,077 charging stalls across China. The expanding charging network supports Li Auto’s growing range of battery-electric models as the company continues to add BEVs alongside its established extended-range lineup.
