The joint venture between Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Leapmotor and global automotive group Stellantis is gaining momentum as it prepares to launch two new models in the German market. The official pricing for the C10 all-electric SUV and the T03 compact vehicle has been finalized, with order books set to open shortly.
The C10 SUV will be available starting at €36,400, while the T03 will begin at €18,900. However, Stellantis has noted that “the prices mentioned are indicative and may vary according to the market,” and specific pricing for different countries is not yet accessible on their configurators.
The T03, classified as a compact vehicle in the A-segment, boasts an interior reminiscent of the B-segment, offering a larger feel in a smaller frame. It is equipped with a 37.3 kWh battery that provides a range of 265 kilometers, based on WLTP standards. According to Stellantis, the T03 is expected to be available by the end of September.
In contrast, the C10 SUV is set to hit dealerships in October. This model is built on Leapmotor’s 3.0 architecture and is the first specifically designed for the global market. The C10 features a 69.9 kWh battery, delivering a WLTP range of 420 kilometers, and supports rapid charging, reaching 30 to 80 percent battery capacity in just 30 minutes.
The initial shipment of T03 and C10 electric vehicles has already been dispatched from China to Europe, with Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares confirming that the first batch consists of approximately 800 units. However, it has been indicated that future production for the European market will transition from China to local facilities. The T03 is set to be manufactured at the Stellantis plant in Tychy, Poland, while the production location for the C10 in Europe is still under consideration, according to Leapmotor International CEO Tianshu Xin.
Last year, Stellantis acquired a 20 percent stake in Leapmotor, aiming to strengthen its business presence in China and facilitate the introduction of Leapmotor’s electric vehicles in Europe. This collaboration resulted in the establishment of the Stellantis-Leapmotor joint venture, with a 51/49 ownership structure. Through Stellantis’ extensive sales channels, Leapmotor International plans to open 350 sales outlets across Europe.
Looking ahead, Leapmotor International aims to launch at least one new model each year from 2025 to 2027. The company also plans to expand into international markets, including the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and South America, by the end of 2024. Initial target markets include Turkey and Israel in the Middle East, as well as Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, and Malaysia in the Asia-Pacific region, with Brazil and Chile identified as key markets in South America. Additionally, the company is reportedly considering entering the South Korean market.
