Leapmotor has officially entered the Mexican automotive market, marking the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer’s first expansion into North America.
The company announced that its B10 compact electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) has completed local certification requirements and is now available for sale, with customer deliveries underway.
B10 Completes Local Certification
Leapmotor introduced the B10 during a series of promotional events held in Mexico City alongside activities surrounding the FIFA World Cup, presenting the model to media representatives, content creators, and prospective customers.
Before its commercial launch, the B10 completed local adaptation and validation testing at Stellantis’ automotive engineering research and testing center in Mexico.
According to the company, every vehicle entering the Mexican market must undergo more than a year of testing covering vehicle performance, emissions, materials, powertrain systems, and compliance with local regulations.
The validation process also included testing under a range of driving conditions, including high-altitude regions, desert environments, and tropical climates. Leapmotor said the B10 became the first of its vehicles to complete the full certification program for the Mexican market.
Expansion Plans Underway
The company plans to introduce the C10 and C16 electric SUVs in Mexico as it broadens its product portfolio to target family transportation and multi-passenger vehicle segments.
Leapmotor is also expanding its retail presence through Stellantis’ existing resources in the country. The company said it has established more than 40 authorized sales outlets across major Mexican cities and intends to extend coverage into additional secondary markets.
After-sales support will be provided by Mopar, which operates a 45,000-square-meter parts distribution center in Toluca stocked with more than 50,000 genuine replacement parts. Leapmotor said the logistics network enables deliveries to dealerships across Mexico within 24 to 48 hours.
Customers will receive a four-year vehicle warranty, an eight-year warranty for the high-voltage battery, roadside assistance, over-the-air software updates, and dedicated customer support services.
Global Expansion Continues
Leapmotor has continued expanding its product lineup during 2026. In June, the company introduced updated versions of its C10, C11, and C16 SUVs in China, upgrading all three models to an 800-volt electrical architecture with a maximum all-electric driving range of up to 660 kilometers.
Later that month, the automaker launched the D99, its first flagship multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), entering a new segment of the market.
The company also said cumulative global vehicle deliveries surpassed 1.5 million units in June 2026, reaching the milestone eight months after exceeding one million deliveries.
