Lancia is set to reveal its new styling language at the “Emozione Pu+Ra” event on April 15, and the Italian automaker is doing it with a bang. The company is unveiling a new two-door sportscar concept that will showcase Lancia’s new design direction, marking the brand’s manifesto for the next decade. The concept car will be fully electric, further cementing Lancia’s commitment to a sustainable future.
The teaser images released by the company show a circular roof and wraparound greenhouse, which promises to offer a panoramic view and natural light inside the cabin. The rear end features round LED taillights under a black spoiler-style panel reminiscent of the Stratos. The horizontal lines on the rear glass are styled after the Venetian blind-inspired structure of the Beta HPE from the ’70s.
Luca Napolitano, CEO of Lancia, described the new concept as an evolution of the Lancia Pu+Ra Zero sculpture that appeared in November 2022, and the company’s brand manifesto for the next decade. He stated that the sportscar concept will be a bold statement of Lancia’s commitment to a sustainable future and an electrified range of vehicles.
The new concept car will not only showcase Lancia’s new design language, but it will also give us a glimpse of the automaker’s new interior design, which aims to replicate the cozy atmospheres of Italian houses while incorporating sustainability, luxury, and technology. This new interior design will be incorporated into Lancia’s upcoming production models, including the Ypsilon supermini, the Aurelia crossover, and the Delta hatchback, which are set to be released in the next few years.
The new concept car is also expected to feature Lancia’s new illuminated “calice” grille at the front, which will become a signature design element in the brand’s upcoming production models.
Lancia’s new two-door sportscar concept promises to be an exciting showcase of the company’s new styling language, electrification commitment, and a glimpse of its upcoming production models. The event on April 15 is definitely one to watch for automotive enthusiasts and fans of the Lancia brand.
