Kia has officially unveiled the facelifted version of its popular EV6 electric crossover in South Korea, showcasing a range of stylish updates and a new battery option. The new EV6 features a refreshed exterior design, with angular LED daytime running lights and headlamps that give it a more striking appearance reminiscent of Kia’s EV3 and EV4 Concepts.
Notable changes to the front fascia include a redesigned bumper and lower grille area, enhancing the EV6’s overall aesthetic. The rear of the vehicle maintains its distinctive look with a signature single LED light bar spanning the width of the car. Additionally, new black and silver wheels in 19-inch and 20-inch sizes add a touch of sophistication to the EV6’s exterior.
Inside, the 2025 EV6 boasts a revised curved panoramic screen housing the digital instrument cluster and infotainment display. Kia has also redesigned the steering wheel and added a fingerprint reader for keyless entry. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, providing a seamless connectivity experience for drivers.
The new EV6 supports over-the-air updates for major electronic control systems, expanding its functionality beyond navigation updates. Other interior upgrades include a digital rear-view mirror, an improved head-up display, and the addition of an augmented reality navigation system similar to those found in current Genesis models.
Underneath its sleek exterior, the facelifted EV6 features Hyundai Motor Group’s latest 84 kWh battery, replacing the previous 77.4 kWh pack. This larger battery offers improved range, with rear-wheel drive models expected to achieve 494 km (307 miles) on a single charge in Korea. The battery supports 350 kW DC fast charging, allowing for a 10-80% charge in just 18 minutes.
Performance-wise, standard rear-wheel drive models deliver 225 hp (168 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque, while dual-motor versions offer 320 hp (239 kW) and 446 lb-ft (605 Nm) of torque.
Kia has also made enhancements to the EV6’s ride comfort, noise levels, and safety features. The facelifted model is set to launch in Korea next month, with prices starting at 55.4 million Korean won (approximately $40,500). More details, including information about the North American version, are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
