KGM Motors UK, formerly known as SsangYong, will showcase its new Musso EV pick-up truck in the United Kingdom for the first time this September at the SUPBIKERUN adventure triathlon in the Lake District.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take the vehicle on early trial test drives, providing feedback to guide its development for the UK market.

Kevin Griffin, Managing Director at KGM Motors UK, said: “SUPBIKERUN is all about adventure and new experiences, which makes it a fitting environment for participants to test drive the Musso EV for the very first time. At this stage, it is about seeing what’s possible for an electric pick-up and engaging with people who will ultimately shape its future.”

The Musso EV is designed as an all-wheel-drive vehicle with vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, allowing users to power external equipment directly from the truck’s battery. The pick-up is projected to offer a driving range of up to 290 miles on a single charge, though final specifications may change. KGM Motors UK said the trial drives will help refine the vehicle’s capabilities to suit real-world conditions in the UK.

The showcase at SUPBIKERUN builds on KGM’s broader collaboration with the triathlon series, which already relies on the award-winning diesel Musso Saracen for logistics across the event’s four UK venues.

The Musso EV debut is part of KGM’s wider strategy to expand its electric vehicle portfolio following the company’s rebranding in January 2024 and investment in a new factory dedicated to pure-electric and hybrid-electric vehicle production.
