KG Mobility’s electric pickup, the Musso EV, has surpassed 6,000 cumulative sales just over six months after its domestic launch, meeting its annual sales target ahead of schedule. The company announced the milestone on Sept. 17, noting that customer deliveries began in mid-March.

The Musso EV recorded strong initial demand, with 3,200 cumulative contracts in the first two weeks after launch. An online-exclusive version sold out in just 1 hour and 30 minutes, signaling robust market interest.

“It recorded cumulative contracts of 3,200 units within two weeks of launch, and the online-exclusive model sold out in just 1 hour and 30 minutes, receiving positive market response from the outset,” a KG Mobility spokesperson said.

The pickup is KGM’s fifth model since introducing the Musso Sports in 2002 and is currently the only electric pickup in Korea. Combining mid-size SUV comfort with EV quietness and pickup load capacity of up to 500 kg, the Musso EV integrates two decades of pickup expertise with modern electrification technology.

It also offers cost efficiency, with operating costs estimated at around 6 million won over five years, and benefits from government and local subsidies, reducing the effective purchase price to the mid-30 million won range for eligible buyers.

Following its domestic success, KG Mobility is expanding into Europe, conducting pre-marketing activities in Germany and Italy and holding official launch events since August. A company official commented, “The early achievement of the Musso EV’s target is significant as it was accomplished amid a slowdown in electric vehicle demand and stagnation in the pickup market. We will continue to respond to various needs and expand our position as the best pickup brand.”
