German logistics provider Karldischinger Logistikdienstleister has announced plans to acquire 100 zero-emission Mercedes-Benz trucks over the next five years.
The trucks, depending on operational needs and technological advancements, will either be battery-powered or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. This move is part of Karldischinger’s commitment to modernizing its fleet with emission-free solutions.
A letter of intent has been signed by both parties, marking the continuation of a century-long partnership between Karldischinger and Mercedes-Benz Trucks. “For a century, the name ‘Karldischinger’ has stood for reliability and innovative spirit in the transport industry,” said Jürgen Distl, Head of Operations at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, highlighting the deep relationship between the two companies. Karldischinger’s fleet already includes 120 Mercedes-Benz trucks and approximately 300 trailers.
As an initial step, Karldischinger has introduced a Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 Lowliner into its fleet, which will be used for inbound logistics at the Daimler assembly plant in Wörth. The introduction of the eActros is part of Mercedes-Benz’s broader goal of creating a locally emissions-free logistics network by 2026.
“The company has been operating as a carrier for transportation at our plants since 1995,” added Distl. Currently, around 20 eActros 300 models are in operation at Wörth, and Karldischinger’s new addition will join this fleet in the coming weeks.
