Finnish retailer K-Lataus has joined forces with Kempower to enhance the fast charging infrastructure across Finland. This collaboration will see the K-Lataus charging network expand with over a hundred DC charging points strategically placed at key commercial locations for Kesko and along major highways.

K-Lataus has selected Kempower chargers capable of delivering 400 kW, catering to a variety of vehicles. These chargers support 800 volts, aligning with the existing K-Lataus network. Iiro Määttänen from K-Auto, overseeing the K-Lataus charging network, noted, “As the total power of each new charging hub is at least 1600kW, we are able to guarantee fast charging even for large customer flows.”

The expansion includes upgrades at four existing charging hubs, with each hub growing by 18 new DC charging points. These hubs are located in Heinola, the Tampere region, Vantaa’s Tammisto, and Turku’s Länsikeskus. Additionally, new charging sites will be built at K-Citymarket Ylöjärvi and Hämeenlinna, all situated at K-Citymarket locations.

Erik Kanerva, Sales Director for Northern Europe at Kempower, highlighted, “This new phase is a great example of the power of Finnish e-mobility expertise and collaboration and the important role of retail in providing charging services.”

Currently, K-Lataus operates 300 charging hubs with 1,500 charging points nationwide, spanning from Hanko in southern Finland to Kittilä in the north. The network serves approximately 175,000 registered private and corporate customers. Notably, all electricity supplied at K-Lataus stations is renewable and generated using domestic wind power.
