Jeep has reduced the price of its Avenger Electric in the UK, making it more competitive in the market. The electric SUV now starts at £29,999 for the ‘Longitude’ trim, offering a more affordable entry point than before.
Other trims also see significant price cuts: the ‘Altitude’ trim is now priced at £31,999, a reduction of £4,700, while the top-tier ‘Summit’ trim is available for £33,999, down by £4,900.
The price cuts position the Jeep Avenger Electric to compete more directly with rivals like the Ford Puma Gen-E, which was revealed this week and starts at £29,995.
The Avenger is now priced lower than other electric competitors, including the Mini Aceman, Smart #1, and Volvo EX30, with price differences ranging from £1,801 to £2,850.
This price reduction comes as Jeep aims to generate demand amid the UK’s tightening Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandate, which requires carmakers to sell at least 22% emission-free cars by 2025. Failure to meet this quota could result in hefty fines or the need to purchase ZEV allowances from manufacturers that exceed their target.
While the price cuts are a strategic move, Jeep’s parent company, Stellantis, remains cautious about the financial impacts of these mandates. However, the lower price point could help Jeep achieve its targets without the need to pay fines.
