Italian commercial vehicle manufacturer Iveco has introduced new technological features of the ‘Iveco On Easy Way’ application platform developed to improve drivers’ lives aboard the Iveco S-Way range of heavy duty trucks.
These features are claimed to further enhance the driver and facilitate interaction with the vehicle. This means that with this new feature, Iveco truck drivers can control cab and vehicle management functions on their mobile devices, as well as access many digital services on Iveco On.
Fabrizio Conicella, Iveco Digital & Advanced Technologies said that the Iveco On Easy Way App is an excellent example of the manufacturer’s customer-centric approach to development.
“We designed it specifically to make the life of our drivers easier, and it is evolving to meet their new requirements. We are constantly seeking their feedback and suggestions and looking for best practices in various sectors to improve the application from their perspective and improve their user experience,” explained the official website on Wednesday (29/6/2022).
One of Iveco’s newest features is the ‘Push Notification’ feature which is useful for alerting vehicle health, control room and Over the Air updates which help them prevent damage and maximize vehicle uptime.
The notification will appear on the driver’s mobile device with a red dot indicator and can also be read in the infotainment system easily.
In addition, this Push Notification feature is also integrated with the Iveco Driver Pal, so that when drivers vocally activate remote cabin commands such as climate scheduling or heating via Amazon Alexa, they will be able to receive confirmations via the Easy Way app.
Another new feature is the ‘Vehicle Section’ which aims to facilitate app installation operations as well as driver feedback which has demonstrated the need for a quick way to pair to a vehicle, without having to manually search and enter the truck’s VIN Number.
This can now be done simply by using the app to read the QR Code displayed in the “Vehicle Section” of the Iveco S-Way truck Infotainment system. The Iveco On Easy Way app has also enhanced the wizard features for pairing the Alexa Mic and using the Iveco Driver Pal vocal driver companion.
The Iveco ON Easy Way app was introduced on Iveco S-Way when it launched in 2019 to provide a single point of contact for managing cab and vehicle functionality and continues to evolve with enhancements and additions of new features and digital services.
This application can also be used to operate cabin functions such as air conditioning, lighting and media, thereby increasing driver comfort. It also provides access to a Driving Style Evaluation which helps them improve their driving style with advice on safe driving, fuel efficiency and vehicle health.
Iveco On Easy Way also connects drivers directly to Remote Assistance Services to program Over the Air updates from the vehicle software. In the event of a breakdown, the driver can use it to contact the 24-hour Iveco Assistance Non-Stop service.
