InstaVolt has launched the UK’s largest and most advanced ultra-rapid charging superhub near the A34 and junction 9 of the M3 in Winchester, England.

The new Winchester Superhub boasts 44 ultra-rapid chargers, each capable of delivering up to 160kW of power, aiming to set a new benchmark for EV charging infrastructure.

The site incorporates a 4 MW battery storage system alongside an on-site solar farm, which, once completed, will feature 870 solar panels. InstaVolt states that the hub will utilize a combination of solar energy, battery storage, and renewable grid power to maintain optimum charging capacity.

“The Winchester Superhub isn’t just a charging hub – it’s a flagship site that sets a new standard for ultra-rapid EV charging,” said InstaVolt CEO Delvin Lane. “As our largest and most advanced site to date, it delivers industry-leading reliability at an unprecedented scale, ensuring drivers can charge quickly and with confidence.”

Beyond charging, InstaVolt has focused on user convenience, offering 24/7 toilet facilities and a play park for families. The company also highlights an off-peak charging tariff to support affordability for EV drivers.
