iCAUR has introduced the V27, a range-extended electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) developed for the European market, combining full-time electric propulsion with a dedicated gasoline-powered range extender to deliver extended driving range and improved versatility.
The company said the V27 is built around its Ultra EV powertrain, designed to support both daily urban commuting and outdoor adventures.
Ultra EV Powertrain
The V27 uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine exclusively as a generator, while the vehicle’s wheels are driven entirely by electric motors.
According to iCAUR, the range extender achieves a thermal efficiency of 44.5% and generates approximately 14 kWh of electricity per gallon (3.71 kWh per liter) of fuel.
By operating the engine within its optimal efficiency range, the system combines fuel-to-electricity conversion, regenerative braking and continuous electric drive to improve overall energy efficiency while reducing noise and vibration compared with conventional internal combustion vehicles.
More Than 1,000 km Combined Range
The company said the V27 offers more than 150 kilometers (93 miles) of pure-electric driving range.
When combining battery power with the range extender, the SUV can travel more than 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) before requiring recharging or refueling.
The dual-energy system allows drivers to either recharge the battery or refuel with gasoline, addressing concerns over charging infrastructure availability and cold-weather driving conditions in parts of Europe.
Designed for Urban and Off-Road Driving
The V27 comes equipped with standard four-wheel drive and a range of off-road technologies, including:
- Crawl control
- Wading mode
- Tank turn
- An 8+X selectable driving mode system
The SUV also features 39 integrated mounting points for accessories, allowing owners to customize the vehicle for recreational and outdoor activities.
Driver Assistance and Cabin Technology
For safety and convenience, the V27 includes 21 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) functions, a 540-degree transparent chassis view, and automatic parking assistance designed to simplify maneuvering in tight urban environments.
Inside, iCAUR said the cabin has been designed to maximize passenger comfort with generous headroom and legroom, ergonomic seating and optimized seat backrest angles intended to reduce fatigue during longer journeys.
With the V27, iCAUR aims to expand its presence in Europe’s growing electrified SUV segment by offering a range-extended electric vehicle that combines long-distance capability with full-time electric driving and off-road versatility.
