Hyundai, a car manufacturer based in South Korea, plans to build a lodging place with an electric car (EV) concept.

The car manufacturer said that it would utilize Ioniq 5’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology to provide electrical power to all lodging facilities.

Quoted from Teslarati, Tuesday (11/10/2022) Ioniq 5 has at least two battery options, namely the standard-range 58kWh package and the long-range 72.6 kWh package.

Meanwhile, Hyundai states that the V2L can supply up to 3.6 kW of power.

The Korean automaker says the IONIQ 5 can charge high-voltage electrical equipment using a converter. Sophisticated again, the car can also provide power when the engine is turned off.

The Hyundai Hotel will be located in Essex, an hour’s drive from central London. The company says that the location of the inn seems ideal for a short break or a short vacation.

“The Ioniq 5 will be able to power Hotel Hyundai using its V2L feature, where the adapter from the car provides a socket where household appliances can be plugged in. The whole experience demonstrates the practicality of this pioneering technology, and we hope this concept inspires more people to go off the grid,” said Ashley Andrew, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor UK.

According to the plan, Hotel Hyundai will only operate for 14 days between October 19 and November 5. Then, the hotel will be open from Wednesday to Sunday.

For tourists who want to try to stay at the hotel, Hyundai has opened a reservation through the website: www.kiphideaways.com/hideaways/hotel-hyundai.
