Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) and Vodafone Business have announced the extension of their strategic partnership to provide enhanced in-car connected streaming and infotainment services in Europe. The collaboration aims to leverage Vodafone Business’s Global Internet of Things (IoT) Connectivity to offer customers of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis models a range of advanced connected car services. This partnership builds upon their initial agreement established in 2018.
As in-vehicle connectivity becomes increasingly prevalent, Vodafone Business, a leader in IoT, is well-positioned to deliver unique and innovative solutions that drive technology adoption. Erik Brenneis, Director of IoT at Vodafone Business, expressed enthusiasm about the extended partnership, stating, “Vodafone and Hyundai have been shaping the future of vehicle mobility since 2018, and the extension of our partnership means we can enhance the experience of millions more customers across Europe.”
With this extended collaboration, Hyundai Motor Group and Vodafone Business plan to introduce audio and video streaming services for vehicles under the Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis brands. Initially, customers will have access to audio streaming services, followed by the introduction of video streaming and WiFi hotspot services.
Haeyoung Kwon, Vice President of Infotainment Development Center at Hyundai Motor Group, expressed the importance of the longstanding partnership, emphasizing Vodafone’s role in connecting drivers with real-time and relevant information. It is worth noting that Hyundai Motor Group also has a partnership with Vodafone-Idea in India, where they collaborate to provide connected car services for Hyundai and Kia vehicles in the country. This highlights the global reach of Hyundai’s partnerships and their commitment to offering cutting-edge connected car experiences to customers around the world.
