Hyundai Mobis has intensified its focus on future mobility by filing numerous patents in the electric and autonomous driving fields.
The company disclosed on Monday that it had applied for over 1,200 patents last year, focusing on core areas such as electrification, self-driving technology, and in-vehicle infotainment systems (IVI).

These filings account for half of the total 2,500 patents filed by Hyundai Mobis globally last year, with over 1,200 in South Korea and over 1,300 overseas. The company’s cumulative patents, including designs and trademarks, now exceed 9,200.
Hyundai Mobis has established the One Team to drive future technology advancement, engaging in ongoing activities for the development of innovative patents.
The company emphasizes collaborative efforts among patent inventors, legal teams, and engineers throughout the entire patent process, from selection to development, design, and detailed patent extraction.

To incentivize patent activities, Hyundai Mobis awarded a total prize money of 100 million won ($75,000) to outstanding patent inventors and organizations in its internal Patent Awards held on Feb. 29. Furthermore, the company provides the latest trends in patents and supports regular seminars on future technologies for employees at overseas research centers in North America, Europe, and India.
