Hyundai Ioniq 5 wins Car And Driver’s EV Of The Year

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has caught the attention of people all over the world with its futuristic retro design. This electric vehicle has received numerous awards, including several 2022 World Car Awards. In addition to safety awards, the Ioniq 5 is the winner of the 2022 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award.

Car and Driver itself was impressed by the innovative design of the Ioniq 5 which will not be found in any other car on the market today. Even its cousin, the Kia EV6, which uses the same platform, doesn’t look related to the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Car and Driver praised the interior of the Ioniq 5 which is modern and highly functional and comes with ample space for passengers and cargo. This Hyundai Ioniq is also impressive in terms of specifications and performance such as in terms of range, charging, acceleration, and overall driving style.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is one of the few fastest charging electric vehicles on the market, making it comfortable to drive all day.

Car and Driver previously also tested a total of 20 EVs with a number of factors to determine which ones deserve the crown. Factors assessed include range, loading speed, cargo volume, overall performance, and several other areas.

The Ioniq 5 2022 starts at around $40,000. It has an EPA estimated range of up to 303 miles.
