According to the judges, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 stood out for its family-friendly features, particularly its spacious rear seat. The judges noted that the rear seat’s size makes it easy for parents to handle car seats and active children. Additionally, the center console can be adjusted forward or backward, providing added flexibility to the rear seat.
However, the Hyundai Ioniq 5’s standout feature for families was its vehicle-to-load adapter.
“Hyundai offers a vehicle-to-load adapter which allows you to actually use the Ioniq 5 as a charger for other things. Plug in the adapter and you can power your kitchen when a storm takes out your power,” the judges explained.

The vehicle-to-load capability of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 was put to the test in 2022 when it powered an entire hotel. The Hyundai Hotel, located in the countryside of the United Kingdom, used the Ioniq 5’s vehicle-to-load technology to power the entire facility for fourteen days.
The recognition highlights the Hyundai Ioniq 5’s innovative features and its suitability for family use, reaffirming its position as a leading electric SUV in the market.
