Hyundai’s highly anticipated electric vehicle, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, has reached the final phase of testing at the renowned Nurburgring circuit. The company has invested significant time and resources into perfecting this groundbreaking model, conducting extensive trials at the Namyang R&D Center in South Korea and the European Test Center at the Nurburgring. Surpassing 10,000 km (6,213 miles) of durability testing on the challenging Nordschleife, the vehicle is now undergoing an additional 10,000 km round of testing.

Notably, numerous upgrades have been implemented to enhance the car’s track performance beyond the capabilities of the standard Ioniq 5. Among these upgrades is the N Battery Preconditioning mode, a sophisticated system that optimizes the temperature of the battery cells for maximum power efficiency. This mode offers two distinct settings: ‘Drag’ for swift launches and ‘Track’ for extended track sessions by lowering the battery temperature.

Introducing the new N Race mode, Hyundai enables drivers to tailor their experience further. The ‘Sprint’ setting prioritizes instantaneous power delivery, catering to the driver’s desire for full-throttle acceleration. Conversely, the ‘Endurance’ mode focuses on maximizing the car’s range during track sessions, controlling power spikes for sustained performance. Additionally, Hyundai’s engineers have developed an advanced regenerative braking system, delivering an impressive decelerative force of up to 0.6 G. Furthermore, the Ioniq 5 N boasts enlarged 400 mm brake discs, ensuring superior stopping power.

Hyundai goes the extra mile to provide an exhilarating driving experience with the Ioniq 5 N. Incorporating the N Active Sound + system, the car immerses drivers in an enhanced auditory environment. Utilizing a 10-speaker setup, including two exterior speakers, the system offers three distinct sound themes. Notably, one of these modes mimics the signature pops and bangs associated with Hyundai’s combustion-powered N cars. Additionally, the N e-Shift feature simulates gearshifts, manipulating motor torque output to replicate the feel of Hyundai’s acclaimed eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

As the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N nears its global debut, automotive enthusiasts eagerly anticipate its showcase at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed. With its exceptional performance, cutting-edge technologies, and thrilling driving experience, the Ioniq 5 N is set to leave an indelible impression on both electric vehicle enthusiasts and motorsport aficionados alike.
