The finally reveals its uncamouflaged and in detail. The Ioniq 6 is the second model in the company’s new Ioniq EV family and will hit dealerships next year alongside the retro-styled Hyundai Ioniq 5 crossover.

Based on the sleek and ultra-low Prophecy concept, the Ioniq 6 is Hyundai’s first model into the electric segment. Like its siblings Ioniq 5 and , it uses Hyundai Motor Group’s .

No detailed specifications have been revealed. Judging from the platform its sibling uses, that means 800V hardware will be standard equipment for fast charging at speeds of up to 350kW. To be sure, the technical info will reportedly arrive on July 14th.

Hyundai calls its electric sedan an “electrified streamliner,”. The striking thing about the design of the Ioniq 6 is its curved shape, making it look like the car is about to slide through the air. From here it can be seen clearly the influence of the Prophecy concept design.

“IONIQ 6 is an emotional convergence of functionality and aesthetics. This distinctive streamlined design is a culmination of the cooperation between engineers and designers of the EV era. They had put customer-centric value first and IONIQ 6 has become a mindful cocoon in the city.” says  SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center

With a curved design, this car is certain to be very aerodynamic. Although to find out, we have to have details about the drag coefficient of the model to know how aerodynamic it really is.

The front comes in a clean minimalist style. The lower fascia covers the vertical sections on each side. The hood looks smooth, and the raised section for the headlights leads to the A-pillar.

Along the sides, a curved belt line along the door accentuates the curvature of the roof. There are some fine carvings along the bottom of the door.

From the images published by Hyundai, this electric sedan has a rear-facing camera, not a mirror. The wheel has a complex and asymmetrical spoke pattern.

The back of the Ioniq 6 looks sporty with a spoiler at the base of the rear glass. Underneath, there is a subtle duck tail spoiler that blends into the sculpted tail.

Just like the Ioniq 5 electric crossover, the full-width taillights have pixel-like square elements that give it a retro futuristic feel. The lower fascia has a pair of vertical elements with red and white reflectors in small square elements.

From the interior, there is a separate screen for the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment shares a single bezel.

On the outer edge, the dashboard comes with an upward-curving design. The panel under the dashboard has a series of capacitive buttons for operating the HVAC system. The Ioniq 6 comes with a two-spoke steering wheel with capacitive buttons on each side.

Photos of the interior of the Ioniq 6 show a purple accent light strip on the dashboard and blue illumination emanating from the lower door panels.

The Ioniq 6 will reportedly come with a 77.4 kwh . With two electric motors, an output of around 300 horsepower (224 kilowatts) is expected. Single motor and more performance-focused versions are also possible.
