Huawei and BAIC’s joint venture brand Stelato said its new S9T station wagon received 20,000 reservations within 24 hours of presales in China, underscoring brisk early demand for the vehicle ahead of its official launch in September.
The S9T, priced between 328,000 and 388,000 yuan ($46,570–$54,020), is the second model under the Stelato brand following last year’s S9 sedan. The station wagon is offered in both battery-electric (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions, with options ranging up to 385 kW (516 hp) of power, Huawei’s ADS 4 driver assistance system with four LiDAR sensors, and air suspension.
Huawei’s sales network HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) said customers placed a 2,000 yuan ($280) refundable deposit to secure reservations. “The Stelato S9T attracted 10,000 orders within the first hour, and reached 20,000 within a day,” the company said. However, as deposits can be refunded, the final sales volume will only be clear after deliveries begin.
The S9T measures 5,160 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm, making it longer than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain Wagon. It features a 16.1-inch central display, three digital screens in the cabin, a 25-speaker Huawei Sound system, and a trunk volume of 660 liters.
The BEV version is equipped with a 100 kWh CATL ternary battery and offers up to 801 km range under CLTC conditions, while the EREV variant, fitted with a 1.5-liter range extender, delivers up to 1,305 km combined range.
