Huawei-backed luxury automotive brand Maextro has unveiled its first ultra-luxury multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs), the V800 and V680, marking the brand’s expansion beyond its flagship S800 sedan.

The two seven-seat MPVs entered pre-sales during the launch event for the Maextro S800 Grand Design and are scheduled for official market launch in early August.

Premium MPVs Enter Pre-Sales

The Maextro V800 is priced between 800,000 yuan (US$117,810) and 1.2 million yuan, while the slightly smaller V680 is offered from 650,000 yuan to 900,000 yuan.

Customers placing pre-orders will receive a 20,000-yuan option package incentive.

Both models feature a seven-seat cabin layout and become the second vehicle family introduced under the Maextro brand following the S800 luxury sedan.

Designed for China’s Luxury MPV Market

The V800 measures 5,495mm in length, 2,006mm in width and 1,850mm in height, with a 3,430mm wheelbase.

The V680 offers a more compact alternative, measuring 5,320mm in length with a 3,290mm wheelbase.

Huawei said the V800 is China’s first domestically produced MPV priced in the one-million-yuan segment and the first MPV equipped with a fully active suspension system.

The model is built on Maextro’s dedicated Tuling Longxing platform, which uses the company’s Full-Domain Fusion Architecture 2.0 to combine ride comfort with dynamic handling.

Advanced Intelligent Driving

Smart driving technology remains one of Huawei’s key differentiators.

The V800 features a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor alongside Huawei’s latest omnidirectional stereo fusion perception system.

According to the company, the platform supports an advanced autonomous driving architecture with redundant safety systems designed to enhance operational reliability.

Extended-Range Powertrain

The V800 is powered by an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) system featuring a 1.5-litre turbocharged range-extender engine producing 127kW.

A dual-motor electric drivetrain delivers 160kW from the front motor and 230kW from the rear motor.

Energy is supplied by a 63.2kWh ternary lithium battery pack provided by CATL, offering a WLTC pure-electric driving range of up to 275 kilometres.

Expanding Domestic Luxury Offerings

Maextro is jointly developed by Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC) under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA).

The launch reflects growing efforts by Chinese automakers to compete in the country’s ultra-premium vehicle segment.

While domestic brands have gained market share in luxury sedans and sport utility vehicles, imported Japanese manufacturers have traditionally dominated China’s premium business MPV market.

With the introduction of the V800 and V680, Maextro is seeking to establish a domestic alternative in the million-yuan luxury MPV category.
