Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has prepared three categories of electric vehicles (EV) for the Indian market.

HMSI President and Managing Director Atsushi Ogata said the three types to be launched are EB (electric bicycle), EM (electric moped) and EV (electric motorcycle).

Quoted from Rideapart, Monday (3/10/2022) Honda sees great potential in the electric moped sector by trying to develop engines with a capacity of 100cc to 125cc.

A report from Car and Bike states that Honda plans to launch an electric moped in the Indian market in early April 2023.

Some time ago, Honda revealed its big plans in EV development in India.

It looks like these plans are starting to pay off, and if Honda releases an electric moped at an affordable price and with impressive specs.

It is not impossible that vehicles like the Ola S1 and Ather 450X which are very popular in India will compete with Honda’s electric mopeds.

Honda also has a high-speed electric motorcycle, which is expected to be launched after its upcoming electric moped.

Previously, Honda had launched the U-GO electric scooter in China which it is likely the electric scooter model will have in common for the Indian market.
