Honda’s electric SUV, the Prologue, has quickly become one of the top-selling electric vehicles in the US, surpassing 25,000 units sold by the end of November 2024. The Prologue saw a significant sales boost in October and November, with over 6,800 units sold in November alone—a 66% increase from 4,100 units sold in October.
Honda began deliveries of the Prologue in March 2024, and its performance has been impressive. As of November, Honda had sold 25,132 Prologue models, marking a sharp contrast to the brand’s absence in the electric vehicle market in 2023. The Prologue now ranks as the fifth top-selling EV in the US for Q3, following behind the Tesla Model Y, Model 3, Cybertruck, and Ford Mustang Mach-E.
“Through November, we have now sold 25,132 Prologue models in the US this year,” Honda said, noting the strong sales growth since the vehicle’s launch. In comparison, the Prologue outpaced competitors like the Hyundai IONIQ 5, which sold 4,989 units in November.
Powered by GM’s Ultium platform, the Prologue offers a range of up to 296 miles. It incorporates Honda’s unique styling, technology, and branding, featuring a multi-link front and rear suspension for a “sporty” driving experience, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which differentiate it from GM’s own models.
The 2024 Honda Prologue starts at $47,400, but with the $7,500 federal tax credit, it can be purchased for as low as $39,900 (excluding destination fees). The all-wheel-drive models are priced starting at $50,400 and offer up to 281 miles of driving range. Meanwhile, Honda’s luxury division Acura also saw success, with the Acura ZDX selling 1,317 units in its best month since launch.
