Chinese premium electric car brand HiPhi, a product of Human Horizons, has introduced the HiPhi A, a high-performance electric hypercar with a formidable 960 kW power output. The unveiling took place at the Guangzhou Auto Show, offering a glimpse into the future of electric mobility. However, production is slated to commence after a period following the premiere.
The HiPhi A boasts impressive performance metrics, with a claimed acceleration from 0 to 100 kph in just over two seconds and a top speed approaching 300 kph. This electric hypercar marks a significant milestone for HiPhi as it showcases the brand’s first foray into developing its own motor and battery technology. The vehicle is built on an 800-volt platform featuring three motors, one at the front and two at the rear.
A distinguishing feature of the HiPhi A’s electric motors is the use of rotors made from a carbon fiber composite material, capable of reaching up to 22,000 revolutions per minute. The direct cooling of the coils ensures sustained high performance for over 30 minutes, and the motors themselves are noted for their lightweight and compact design. Additionally, parts of the battery housing, such as the base and housing cover, are constructed from carbon fiber.
While inheriting the distinctive and angular design elements of the HiPhi X and Y models, the HiPhi A is the outcome of collaboration with Wesail New Energy Automotive. HiPhi supplies the specially developed drive components, while Wesail contributes what HiPhi terms “hypercar elements.” ShanghaiTech University has also played a role in the development of this cutting-edge electric hypercar.
Further details about the HiPhi A are expected to be disclosed by the brand in the coming months. The show car premiered on November 17 at the Guangzhou Auto Show, and production of this electric hypercar is anticipated to commence in limited numbers from the first quarter of 2025.
