Hesai Group, a Chinese LiDAR manufacturer, unveiled its groundbreaking AT1440 LiDAR at the Consumer Electronics Show 2025 (CES 2025), claiming it as the world’s highest-channel automotive LiDAR.

Powered by Hesai’s fourth-generation technology platform, the AT1440 offers an angular resolution of 0.02° and delivers ultra-high-definition point clouds, achieving more than 30 times the resolution of mainstream automotive LiDARs. The company has positioned the AT1440 as a “gamechanger” for autonomous driving, promising precise 3D imaging capabilities.

Just hours before Hesai’s announcement, RoboSense Technology, another major Chinese LiDAR producer, launched the EM4, which boasts up to 1,080 channels.

RoboSense also claims that its EM4 is the world’s first LiDAR system to exceed 1,000 laser channels. Both companies are significant players in the rapidly growing LiDAR market, with RoboSense achieving a 113 percent increase in sales, delivering 544,200 LiDAR units in 2024.

In addition to the AT1440, Hesai introduced its next-generation solid-state FTX LiDAR, designed for ADAS-equipped passenger vehicles and robotics. The FTX boasts an all-solid-state electronic scanning technology, offering the largest field of view for an automotive-grade solid-state LiDAR.

It has a detection range of up to 30 meters with a point rate of 492,000 points per second, providing a 2.5 times increase in data collection compared to its predecessor.

Hesai also announced its mini 3D LiDAR JT Series, noted for its wide field of view and compact design. The JT series, optimized for robotics applications, features a detection range of up to 60 meters and a diameter of just 55 mm, further expanding the company’s portfolio of innovative LiDAR solutions.
