An impressive record was made by the GMC Hummer EV electric pickup, which has been ordered by 90,000 people so far. Interestingly, the order is not just an ordinary order number. According to Rich Latek, GMC Marketing Director, almost 90 percent of the total incoming orders have committed to keep making factual purchases.

Rich Latek said that currently over time the orders for the GMC Hummer EV continue to grow. Orders were made for two types of GMC Hummer EV, namely pickup and SUV.

“About 90 percent of orders have committed to being a factual purchase. Many consumers actually buy the highest variant,” said Rich Latek.

Until now the GMC Hummer EV has not actually been sent to consumers. GMC has just given away the first 100 units of the GMC Hummer EV First Edition to 100 people who first placed an order when the car was first introduced two years ago. The plan is that the GMC Hummer EV will begin production early next year.

The high number of orders for electric cars made GMC carry out a unique sales strategy. They prohibit consumers who have received the electric car from selling it within one year.

This was done because GMC saw many of the first recipients of the GMC Hummer EV First Edition selling the electric car at a fantastic price of USD325,000. Even though the price of the GMC Hummer EV is at USD86,645. So the resale price of the electric car reached four times the initial price.

This speculative action was avoided by GMC. So they asked consumers who already own the GMC Hummer EV not to sell the electric car again within one year.
