GM has received more than 65,000 reservations for GMC Hummer pickups and SUVs. GM itself made the first deliveries of the MC Hummer pickups at the end of last year.

The high orders made the company look for ways to increase production capacity as soon as possible amid rising raw materials and the recent chip crisis.

New orders likely won’t be fulfilled until 2024. The same goes for Ford with the F-150 Lightning.

Apart from the fantastic number of bookings, what is important is the reservation to real booking ratio which is also high at 95%.

GMC’s first Hummer EV pickups were delivered to consumers at the end of last year, and in about a week’s time, it’s likely to have information on how many were shipped in Q1 2022.

Megan Hart, assistant marketing manager for Hummer, said most of the orders were for the pickup type, which was launched first. For new orders, however, this is split more evenly between the pickup and SUV versions.
