General Motors will deliver the GMC Hummer EV pickup truck to consumers in December 2021, said GMC Brand Chief, Duncan Aldred, as quoted by Reuters.

Aldred said that the Hummer EV Edition 1 which is the highest variant, has an electric driving range of 329 miles

GM launched the Hummer EV with a starting price of over $100,000. GM will announce pricing for its next model with a longer driving range in 2023.

Aldred said more than 80 percent of orders for the electric Hummer pickup were for the Edition 1 model and nearly half of the more than 125,000 people who had expressed interest in the Hummer EV had paid a $100 booking fee to order the truck.

The Hummer EV will join Rivian Automotive Inc’s electric pickup on the market. Ford Motor Co will also introduce its electric F-150 Lightning next year. Tesla is building a factory in Austin, Texas, to make the Cybertruck electric pickup.
