GLS Spain has entered into an agreement with Endesa to electrify its delivery fleet and enhance its infrastructure with renewable energy solutions. The collaboration will see Endesa install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at GLS locations across Spain. While specific details regarding the number of chargers remain unclear, the agreement includes up to 19 sites nationwide, with some locations expected to feature over 100 charging points, including both AC and DC chargers capable of up to 300 kW.
The primary purpose of the new charging infrastructure will be to support GLS’s fleet of electric delivery vehicles, with the 300 kW chargers designed specifically for these vehicles. In addition to serving the fleet, the chargers will be available to GLS employees, encouraging the adoption of electric mobility. Employees will also have access to Endesa’s wider charging network across Spain under favorable conditions, enabling them to charge their vehicles beyond GLS facilities.
“This agreement with Endesa reflects our commitment to leading the change toward a more sustainable business model,” said Daniel López, Environmental Director of GLS Spain. “We are convinced that every step counts, and this represents significant progress in reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing efficiency at all levels of our operations.”
The partnership also includes the installation of solar panels at GLS locations in the coming years. Initially, 155 panels will be installed, covering over 300 m² and providing a total capacity of 78 kWp. Davide Ciciliato, Endesa’s General Director of Commercialization, emphasized the urgency of addressing climate change, stating, “At Endesa, we’re helping companies design personalized decarbonization energy strategies with a 360° approach.”
