Genesis X Convertible electric concept debuts in 2022 L.A. Auto Show

South Korean premium car manufacturer Genesis has just introduced the Genesis X Convertible Concept. This car is also the third and final model for the X concept.

Launched in California ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Genesis X Convertible features an Athletic Elegance design language that is similar to the two concept cars that were introduced earlier, namely the X Concept which launched in 2021 and the X Speedium Coupe 2022.

“It is an extension of Genesis to enhance the athletic and emotional side of our design philosophy by creating an emotional trilogy of the X family,” said Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke

The exterior design of the Genesis X Convertible Concept looks beautiful thanks to the long hood and short front overhang.

The appearance is even sweeter thanks to the Quad Lights complete with the LED light bar that has become the hallmark of Genesis, as embedded in the Speedium X Concept.

The Speedium X Concept uses a closed grille, but still uses the Crest Grille design (open grille at the bottom of the front bumper) to keep the powertrain cool.

Overall, the profile of the concept car looks elegant and luxurious with the characteristics of a convertible that has an open roof.

The design is streamlined with sharp indentations above the front and rear wheels, and clear lines that stretch from the front of the hood to the lip spoiler.

The legs are also made attractive with a complex G-Matrix pattern rim with a concave design. For the stern, the LED taillights with a horizontal design are made minimalist. The lip spoiler on the decklid of this concept car also attracts attention thanks to the small V-shaped indentation.

As for the interior, Genesis uses a mixture of wool and leather materials so that the appearance of the cabin looks luxurious. An immersive audio system developed by sound master Guk-il Yu is also featured.
