Genesis Launches Electrified GV70 in 15 US States as Part of Plan for 100% Zero-Emission Lineup

Genesis Motors has recently unveiled its latest fully electric vehicle, the Electrified GV70, which is now available to buyers in 15 US states. Assembled at the brand’s Alabama facility, the Electrified GV70 is the first Genesis model to be built in the US, marking a significant milestone for the luxury automaker. The release of the Electrified GV70 follows Genesis’s commitment to ending new gas-powered models by 2026 and achieving a 100% zero-emission lineup by the end of the decade.

Genesis first entered the electric vehicle market with the release of the GV60 electric crossover SUV in 2019. The GV60 was the brand’s first dedicated electric vehicle based on the E-GMP platform. Since then, Genesis has continued to expand its electric vehicle lineup with the release of the all-electric Electrified G80 executive sedan in 2022. The G80 was an electrified version of the brand’s luxury sedan, boasting an EPA-estimated range of 282 miles and a starting MSRP of $79,825.

The latest addition to Genesis’s EV lineup, the Electrified GV70, is built on the brand’s GV70 platform and features dual 160 kW front and rear electric motors, a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, a 400/800V multi-charging system, and a range of 236 miles. The model also boasts the “Beauty of the White Space” interior, a concept that provides a spacious and luxurious feel.

With the launch of the Electrified GV70, Genesis has taken another step towards its goal of achieving a zero-emission lineup. Claudia Marquez, the chief operating officer at Genesis Motor North America, has described the launch of the electric SUV as a “significant moment for the brand,” as the company continues to expand its EV lineup in the US.

The Electrified GV70 is now available in 15 US states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. By expanding its EV lineup and making its vehicles more widely available, Genesis is demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and paving the way for an electric future.
