Geely has begun distributing a new over-the-air (OTA) software update for the Geely EX5 in 36 markets, covering driver assistance functions, connectivity and infotainment features.
The rollout started in Australia on October 12, followed by selected markets in Central and South America on October 22. Distribution in eligible European markets and the United Kingdom began on November 4–5.
Driver Assistance and Vehicle Functions
The update includes changes to the vehicle’s Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Integrated Cruise Control (ICC) systems. ACC has been adjusted to provide smoother deceleration when approaching bends, while ICC receives refinements to its lane-keeping function.
Geely has also updated warning notifications and vehicle-finder sounds. An Active Speed Limiter (LIM) function is being added in supported markets.
The update also allows drivers to disable the Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) low-speed warning sound in markets and vehicle configurations where this option is available.
Infotainment and Smartphone Integration
The software package adds system and voice language options, along with three applications: BBC World Service, Beach Buggy Racing and Vivaldi Browser. Availability of these applications depends on the market.
Changes have also been made to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. When the 360-degree Surround View system is activated, its display takes priority over the smartphone application interface.
Update Availability
Geely EX5 owners can receive the software package through the vehicle’s OTA update function as it becomes available. Customers can also contact authorised Geely retailers for assistance.
