Gazelle Bikes, the largest Dutch bicycle maker renowned for its wide array of popular bicycle models, has announced the launch of its Gazelle Eclipse trekking model for the US market.
With over 130 years of continuous production and design legacy, Gazelle is celebrated worldwide for its Dutch e-bikes and pedal bikes. In recent years, the brand has been expanding its electric models into the US market.
The Gazelle Eclipse marks a significant milestone as the first Bosch-powered 28 mph (45 km/h) e-bike with the new Bosch Smart System to be launched in the US. Combining classic commuter styling with trail-ready functionality, the Gazelle Eclipse features a Dutch-inspired design on an adventure-oriented frame.
Describing the new model, Gazelle stated:
“Designed for the ambitious adventurer who appreciates the finest things in life, the Eclipse boasts a twin downtube design that is both beautiful and functional, offering stability at speed and a comfortable riding position, while incorporating the largest battery into a sleek Gazelle design. Combining design, power, and precision, the Eclipse is comfortable, capable, and ready for wherever its rider wants to take it.”
The bike is equipped with Bosch’s updated Performance Line Speed Motor with the Smart System, delivering up to 85 Nm of torque for extreme hill climbing and powerful acceleration. Paired with Bosch’s largest 750 Wh battery, the Gazelle Eclipse offers all-day riding on a single charge. The battery is UL-compliant for added safety.
Bosch’s Smart System includes an auto-mode selector, enabling the bike to intelligently select different pedal assist power modes based on current riding terrain, speed, power input, and other factors. Riders can also choose to keep the bike in manual mode for complete control over their riding experience.
Featuring a Suntour Mobie 45 fork and 60mm tires for improved comfort and handling in off-road riding, the Gazelle Eclipse also includes a fully-adjustable stem with an integrated Bosch Kiox 300 display. The bike’s new front and rear lights are the brightest yet on a Gazelle e-bike, and the Eclipse is equipped with MIK rack support for easy attachment of accessories.
The Gazelle Eclipse is available in multiple models, including the Eclipse T11+ HMB with an 11-speed Shimano Deore XT derailleur, priced at US $5,499. This model is available in both low-step and high-step versions in various colorways.
