Phillips 66, an energy industry company from the United States announced the installation of the FreeWire ultra-fast electric vehicle charger in Houston.

This installation marks the debut of ultra-fast EV charging at Phillips 66 fuel stations in the US.

Phillips 66 and FreeWire announced plans earlier this year to implement FreeWire’s integrated ultrafast battery technology to meet the growing demand from EV drivers for fast charging.

Phillips 66 will leverage its network of approximately 7,000 Phillips 66, Conoco and 76 branded sites in the US and other strategic locations. The first FreeWire charger was commissioned in Texas.

“The installation of the first FreeWire EV charger in our flagship Phillips 66 fuel station is an important step in our EV charging journey as well as our commitment to pursuing low-carbon solutions,” said Rod Palmer, Vice President of US Marketing at Phillips 66 in an announcement shared here. Twitter.

Palmer added that he thinks the FreeWire chargers offer the fast charging experience they’re looking for, and the Phillips 66-branded network of refueling locations places chargers in existing, strategically located locations.

The introduction of the EV charger reflects Phillips 66’s commitment to working to meet the world’s growing energy needs while reducing its environmental footprint.

The company has focused its Emerging Energy and Sustainability business strategy on four pillars, namely, renewable fuels, batteries, carbon capture, and hydrogen.

The FreeWire Boost Charger is a more convenient option for sites looking to enter the EV charging space.

“We are excited to mark this milestone with the Phillips 66 and make our fast charging solution available to more EV drivers,” said Arcady Sosinov, Founder and CEO of FreeWire.

“As demand for charging continues to increase, our battery integrated chargers offer an efficient and ready-to-use solution that is sought after by many entering the EV charging space.”
