Reported by Carscoops on Wednesday (27/4/2022), the undisclosed electric van is reportedly the latest generation of Ford Transit and Turneo Custom vans.
The Ford Transit Custom (blind van) and Tourneo Custom (passenger van) are traditionally twin models that share the same foundation and body panels. In this new generation, they will be further distinguished by slightly different lighting markings on the sides, a glowing grille as well as an electric variant which will have a special badge on the front bumper.
In addition to the fully electric variant, the 1 tonne LCV is also expected to come with gasoline, diesel, mild-hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

As part of the collaboration between Ford and Volkswagen, the Transit and Tourneo Custom will form the basis for the next VW Transporter. The same will happen to the Ford Ranger and VW Amarok pickup trucks and follows the already available VW Caddy and Ford Transit/Tourneo Connect twins.
Ford has confirmed that the new Transit/Tourneo Custom will be built in Turkey from 2023, while the smaller Transit/Tourneo Courier will follow in 2024.
The zero-emissions LCV will help Ford achieve its goal of carbon neutrality in Europe by 2035 in terms of model range, facilities, logistics and suppliers.
