Ford Motor Company will use Advanced Driver Assistance Systems or ADAS as one of the company’s new sources of revenue.

Reported from Carscoops, Jim Farley, CEO of Ford Motor Company, said that his party plans to make ADAS increase revenue to 20 billion dollars for 2030.

Ford wants to innovate through its over-the-air (OTA) software capabilities called Ford Pro and Ford Pro Commercial.

Many features are planned to be monetized, such as advanced driver assistance features such as BlueCruise and ActiveGlide that allow drivers to spend less time behind the wheel.

In addition, there are autonomous features that will be released some time in the future.

“I really believe that in the past we used cellphones to make calls, then implanted systems and installed sensors. All that software made it possible for cellphones not only to be used to make calls,” said Jim Farley.

“The same thing will happen in our industry. I see there is strength for ADAS, not only at Tesla, but all of us,” he said.

Jim Farley also thought that Ford could charge a much higher fee than Tesla.

“If we can get people to sleep in the car, give them 45 minutes to get back on their way, go to work 45 minutes later, come home 45 minutes early, these features come at a cost, running into the tens of thousands of dollars.”

“I believe when we can get a lot of software into cars and users have great sensors, this will turn the experience into a more productive one, there will be a huge revenue expansion.” Farley said
