Images circulating online have captured a surprising scene of a Ford Mustang Mach-E engulfed in flames, yet remarkably, the electric crossover emerged from the incident with minimal damage. Unlike previous incidents involving electric vehicles (EVs) where the cars or two-wheelers were often left totaled, authorities were able to extinguish the blaze and salvage a significant portion of the Mustang Mach-E within just a few hours.
In a video capturing the aftermath of the incident, it becomes evident that the damage inflicted upon the Mustang Mach-E was considerably minimized. Firefighters took swift action by elevating one side of the SUV and continuously directing water onto the battery pack, preventing the fire from engulfing the entire vehicle. Their prompt response played a crucial role in effectively containing the fire before it could cause further harm.

When electric vehicles catch fire, they typically sustain substantial damage or are completely destroyed by the time the flames are brought under control. However, in the case of this particular Ford Mustang Mach-E electric crossover, the vehicle managed to largely escape unscathed, aside from damage to its battery pack. Generally, lithium-ion battery-powered vehicles are less prone to fires compared to their internal combustion engine-powered counterparts. However, once an EV is involved in a fire, the intensity of the thermal incident is significantly higher than that of a fire in a traditional internal combustion engine vehicle. Consequently, extinguishing an electric vehicle fire poses greater challenges.
According to Polish news website Trojmiasto, this incident marks the second EV fire in Poland. The previous case involved a Mercedes EV, which took firefighters nearly 21 hours to extinguish. The contrasting outcome of the Ford Mustang Mach-E fire highlights the importance of swift response and effective firefighting techniques in mitigating damage and preserving EVs in such situations.
