In a groundbreaking move, Fisker has revealed further intricacies surrounding the Fisker PEAR, an innovative crossover that has captured attention with its affordable price tag of $29,900.
Chairman and CEO of Fisker, Henrik Fisker, commented on the unconventional design approach, stating, “With PEAR, we threw convention out the window. We created this vehicle with the idea that young people living in the worldâs big cities need innovative, versatile, and affordable mobility.”
The unveiling of the PEAR took place on August 3 at Fisker’s inaugural Product Vision Day. The company has collaborated with Foxconn to produce the vehicle at a facility in Ohio, emphasizing its commitment to manufacturing excellence on American soil.
Excitingly, Fisker has announced that an exhibition of the production-intent PEAR will be open to the public at the Fisker Lounge Munich (Kaufingerstrasse) from September 4 to 10. This event will run concurrently with the IAA Mobility 2023 event in Munich.
Distinguished by its new light steel body structure, the PEAR embodies Fisker’s engineering and design prowess by reducing the parts count by an impressive 35%. Measuring around 15 feet in length (4550mm), the vehicle is notably smaller than the Fisker Ocean SUV, which commenced deliveries in the second quarter of 2023. An innovative feature of the PEAR is its Houdini trunk, designed to facilitate easy loading and unloading in tight urban parking scenarios while also safeguarding the trunk lid and glass during rear collisions. This feature was demonstrated at a controlled speed during the August 3 event, with the production version expected to operate at higher speeds.

Among the PEAR’s distinctive attributes is a drawer-like front boot, referred to as the “froot.” This space can be utilized to store various items, from takeout meals to post-workout attire, effectively keeping odors away from the interior. An insulated option for the “froot” will be offered to maintain food at optimal temperatures. The vehicle’s cabin is thoughtfully engineered for robustness, eliminating fragile moving components. This quality renders the PEAR suitable for car-sharing schemes, busy families, and those who prioritize ample storage solutions.
Additionally, the PEAR boasts a unique Lounge Mode, featuring fold-flat seats, including the rear row, which can fold backward into the trunk area, creating a spacious lounge setting for leisure activities. For entertainment purposes in Lounge Mode, an optional 17.1-inch rotating screen can be incorporated. The five-seater vehicle can be upgraded to accommodate six passengers, achieved by substituting the single front passenger seat and center console with a sizable two-seat bench.
Sustainability is a core aspect of the PEAR’s identity, with its interior showcasing recycled and bio-based materials. As part of Fisker’s ambitious plan to introduce a carbon-neutral vehicle by 2027, the PEAR plays a pivotal role. The vehicle’s exterior camera mirrors are still under review and subject to potential modifications.
With two battery alternatives, the PEAR offers an estimated range of 180 miles for maximum sustainability or an extended range of approximately 320 miles for longer journeys. The projected acceleration figures are notable, with a base 0-60mph time of 6.3 seconds and a 0-100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds. The PEAR will be available in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations, equipped with standard 20-inch wheels. For enhanced performance, optional 22-inch wheels with high-performance tires can also be selected. Enthusiasts can anticipate a high-performance variant, the Fisker PEAR Extreme, joining the lineup.

Taking technological strides, the PEAR marks the debut of Fisker’s in-house-designed High-Performance Computer, aptly named the Fisker Blade. This cutting-edge component promises an entirely new level of connected and digital customer experiences, perfectly aligned with the era of software-defined vehicles. Engineered for speed, energy efficiency, safety, and cybersecurity, the Fisker Blade is presented in a slim, modular, and upgradable unit. Its capabilities include delivering up to 6.2 TFLOPs and up to 25% more performance per watt. Employing an asymmetric processing architecture enhances power efficiency. The PEAR incorporates a high-speed multi-gigabit internal Ethernet network that seamlessly connects vehicle systems to the Fisker Blade, enabling swift networking and diagnostics. The integration of a 5G/Wi-Fi6 wireless network transforms the PEAR into a cloud-connected miniature data center, fortified by Fisker’s meticulous design of both vehicle system software and data pipelines for streamlined cloud and in-car analytics.
Production and deliveries of the Fisker PEAR are poised to commence in July 2025, heralding a new chapter in the realm of innovative and sustainable automotive solutions.
