Fisker looks to expand Ocean electric SUV production after receiving over 58,000 reservations

plans to increase production of the all-electric Ocean after receiving 58,000 orders from customers.

Fisker initially targeted to produce 50,000 units of the Ocean electric SUV every year. However, Henrik Fisker recently announced that the company has already secured more than 58,000 bookings. The company has secured 5,000 orders for the One launch edition model just 30 days after its launch in July.

“With our partners at , test vehicles are rolling off the line at the carbon-neutral manufacturing plant in Graz, where we are working diligently on expanding production numbers beyond the current projection of 50,000 units per year. We are also exploring expanding operations to meet this growing demand, including considering manufacturing in the United States. And with our disciplined spending, strong cash position, extraordinary operational flexibility, strong relationships with our suppliers, and a diversified, high line-of-sight potential revenue stream for the first year, we’re full speed ahead on all fronts.” said Henrik Fisker

Henrik Fisker said the automaker he co-founded had at least 80,000 orders for the Ocean before the end of 2022. Production will begin on November 17, 2022 at its Magna Steyr production facility in Graz, Austria.

For the initial phase 55 Fisker Ocean prototypes have been produced by Magna and are currently being tested before production begins. Two of the 55 prototypes have landed at Fisker’s headquarters in Manhattan Beach, California.
