Fisker, the manufacturer of the all-electric Ocean crossover, has expanded its dealership network in the United States, adding another franchised dealership in Miami, Florida. This brings the total number of Fisker dealerships in the country to six, with the latest addition being the company’s second presence in the Sunshine State.

Currently, Fisker has dealerships in Georgia, Indiana, New York, Florida, and South Carolina, along with three Fisker Centers in California and New York. In Europe, the startup has expanded to 12 dealerships, up from four previously, and operates 18 self-operated centers where customers can test drive, order, and take delivery of the Ocean EV.

The expansion of Fisker’s dealership network comes amid challenges faced by owners of the Ocean EV, including software bugs, plummeting resale prices, and concerns about the company’s ability to service its sole product.

Production of the Ocean EV has been paused since last month “to align inventory levels and progress strategic and financing initiatives,” according to the startup. Approximately 4,700 cars are currently sitting in inventory out of a total of about 11,000 built by Magna in Austria.

In an effort to boost cash reserves, Fisker has slashed prices on the Ocean, with the entry price now starting at $24,999, a drop of $14,000. The top-spec Extreme model has also seen a price cut of $24,000, now priced at $37,499. However, finding a base model at the advertised price has proven challenging, with most cars being Ultra units with additional optional extras that push the price over $40,000.

Despite these challenges, the addition of another dealer in Florida is expected to provide some reassurance to customers in the region, particularly in terms of servicing.
