Italian automaker Fiat, under the Stellantis umbrella, is set to introduce its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the Fiat 500e, to North American consumers in the first quarter of 2024.
Kicking off its North American debut is the RED Edition of the Fiat 500e, with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $32,500, excluding the $1,595 destination charge. For this edition, Fiat has collaborated with (RED) to create what they dub the “coolest, most ethical car in urban mobility,” featuring distinctive elements such as red-painted exterior mirrors, LED headlamps, front grille details, and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The Fiat 500e boasts a charging capacity of up to 85 kW, offering a notable range of 31 miles (50 kilometers) after just five minutes of charging, and achieving 80% battery capacity within 35 minutes. The estimated charging time from 0% to 100% with a Level 2 (11-kW) charging station is four hours and 15 minutes. The lithium-ion battery, with a 42 kWh capacity, provides an electric range of 149 miles (240 kilometers). Buyers will also receive a home L2 Wallbox charger system or charge credits through the Free2Move Charge service as part of the purchase.
Olivier Francois, CEO and Global CMO of Stellantis, expressed Fiat’s unique approach to electric vehicles, stating, “FIAT is taking on BEVs in a way only the Italian brand can, combining ‘La Dolce Vita’ spirit of an icon with a mission of sustainability and zero emissions.” He highlighted the 2024 500e as a modern, tech-forward iteration of a classic, blending new safety features with the inherent fun and heritage of the Fiat driving experience.
