FedEx has announced the addition of ten new electric vehicles (EVs) to its fleet in New Zealand, aimed at enhancing the company’s pickup and delivery operations in Auckland’s high-traffic areas.
The newly introduced vehicles will be the LDV eDeliver 9 model, marking another step in FedEx’s global effort to electrify its delivery fleets.

This expansion in New Zealand is part of FedEx’s broader strategy to reduce its carbon footprint and transition to fully electric delivery solutions. In the Asia Pacific region, the company operates over 7,600 vehicles, and globally, FedEx’s fleet comprises more than 200,000 vehicles, with over 100,000 of those being company-owned.
Alongside the introduction of electric delivery vans, FedEx is exploring additional sustainable technologies, including autonomous vehicles, robots, and intermodal rail transport. This month, the company also introduced its first electric vehicles into its South Korean fleet.

Auckland, already familiar with electric transport, sees electric buses in operation as part of its public transport services. The city is also home to electric watercraft, which contribute to New Zealand’s ongoing commitment to clean and sustainable transportation solutions.
