Everything You should know about Peugeot 408

Peugeot has introduced the new Peugeot 408, the latest generation in Europe (22/6). The latest generation Peugeot 408 in Europe is here to continue the previous generation Peugeot 408 which has been active since 2010.

Interestingly, the Peugeot 408 which was launched in Europe is much different from the 408 which has been launched in China or the previous generation.

One of the main differences is that the latest European version of the Peugeot 408 has a four-door Coupe SUV body instead of a sedan.

Starting from the front, the European version of the 408 has a look that is inspired by other Peugeot SUVs such as the 3008 and 5008.

Call it the 408 already has a grille that looks integrated with the headlights and DRL lights that resemble fangs.

The body also looks tough like an SUV with cladding on the front bumper, rear bumper, fenders, and side skirts.

Instead of a sedan-style trunk door, the latest Peugeot 408 has a hatchback or liftback trunk door.

Entering the interior, the latest Peugeot 408 presents the driver and passenger cabin of the latest Peugeot i-Cockpit which is equipped with various advanced features.

Peugeot has equipped the 408 with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) which consists of Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go Function, Automatic Emergency Braking with Collision Warning, Active Lane Departure Warning with Lane Correction, Night Vision System, and a 360 camera.

Then there’s the Peugeot i-Connect Advanced, a 10-speaker Focal audio system, Drive Assist Package options, and a panoramic sunroof.

In terms of performance, the Peugeot 408 is available in a 1,199cc PureTech 130 three-cylinder turbo engine similar to 2008.

This machine is capable of producing a peak power of 130 hp/5,500 rpm and a torque of 230 Nm/1,750 rpm which is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

In addition there are plug-in hybrid drives Hybrid 180 and Hybrid 225 four-cylinder turbo engine 1,598 cc producing 150 hp and 180 hp, respectively.

These two engines combine with an electric motor of 81 kW or 110 hp to produce a combined power of 180 hp and 225 hp.
