Geely Auto’s Galaxy brand has expanded into the rugged off-road SUV segment with the launch of the Cruiser 700, also known as the Zhanjian 700. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle combines traditional off-road styling with electrified powertrains, high system output and a cabin equipped for family travel and outdoor activities.

Built on Geely’s GTA architecture for new energy off-road vehicles, the Cruiser 700 features a five-seat layout and multiple powertrain configurations, including two-wheel drive and triple-motor four-wheel drive. Depending on the variant, its combined system output reaches as high as 830 kW, while its maximum claimed CLTC combined range is 1,770 km.

Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 Pricing and Variants

The Cruiser 700 launched in China with six variants, comprising five regular versions and a Land Ark special edition.

The regular variants have official prices ranging from 189,800 yuan to 259,800 yuan, while the Land Ark special edition is priced at 379,800 yuan.

Geely also introduced several purchase incentives. After a 6,000-yuan purchase-tax cash subsidy and a 4,000-yuan insurance subsidy, introductory prices range from 179,800 yuan to 369,800 yuan. Eligible buyers receiving an additional 10,000-yuan trade-in subsidy can access limited-time prices ranging from 169,800 yuan to 359,800 yuan.

The official starting price is 10,000 yuan below the pre-sales starting price announced in September.

Dimensions and Off-Road Design

The Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 measures 5,085 mm in length and 1,999 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.

Its five-seat configuration combines a large SUV footprint with a boxy exterior designed to emphasize its off-road character.

Traditional rugged styling elements include a side-hinged tailgate and an externally mounted spare tire. Inside, Geely retains a physical gear selector and dedicated controls for functions such as drive-mode selection, providing direct access to frequently used vehicle settings.

The Cruiser 700 is built on the GTA architecture developed specifically for new energy off-road vehicles, distinguishing it from conventional road-focused crossover SUVs.

Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain Options

The Cruiser 700 is available with 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engines paired with electric motors.

The two-wheel-drive versions use a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a single electric motor. Their combined system output reaches 350 kW (469 hp), enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds.

The higher-performance four-wheel-drive versions pair the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with three electric motors. These configurations deliver a combined output of 690 kW (925 hp) and complete the 0-to-100 km/h sprint in 4.2 seconds.

The Dingfeng variant combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with triple-motor four-wheel drive. Its combined system output rises to 830 kW (1,113 hp), and its official 0-to-100 km/h acceleration time is 3.95 seconds.

These configurations give the Cruiser 700 a broad performance range, from everyday family-oriented driving to high-output off-road applications.

Battery Capacity and Electric Driving Range

The Cruiser 700 offers substantial electric-only driving capability for a plug-in hybrid SUV.

The two-wheel-drive variants with the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine provide a claimed CLTC electric range of 305 km. Their combined range reaches 1,770 km.

The triple-motor four-wheel-drive variants using the same engine deliver 280 km of CLTC electric range and a combined range of 1,520 km.

The Dingfeng variant has a claimed CLTC electric range of 270 km.

The differences in range reflect the different powertrain configurations, with the higher-output four-wheel-drive versions prioritizing performance and traction over maximum electric and combined driving distance.

LFP Battery and 6C Charging

The four variants equipped with the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine use a 47.14 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. The battery cells are supplied by CATL.

The battery system supports a peak charging rate of 6C, enabling high-rate charging when used with compatible charging equipment and under suitable conditions.

The combination of a relatively large battery for a PHEV and high-rate charging supports the Cruiser 700’s electric-driving capability while retaining the flexibility of gasoline-assisted long-distance travel.

Battery specifications for the 2.0-liter Dingfeng variant and the Land Ark special edition are not fully detailed in the supplied launch information.

Interior Technology and Comfort

The Cruiser 700 runs Geely’s Flyme Auto 2 infotainment system.

The cabin combines digital vehicle functions with physical controls for key driving operations. This approach is intended to make frequently used features more accessible, particularly when driving on uneven terrain or switching between different drive modes.

Comfort equipment includes massage seats and an onboard refrigerator. These features support the SUV’s dual role as a family vehicle and a platform for outdoor recreation.

Market Position and Competition

The Cruiser 700 enters China’s competitive off-road SUV market, where electrified powertrains are increasingly being used to combine high performance with everyday usability.

Its competitors include BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao models and Great Wall Motor’s Tank lineup. These brands compete in a segment where buyers value rugged design, four-wheel-drive capability, high ground-oriented utility and the flexibility to travel beyond urban environments.

Geely Galaxy’s entry adds another electrified option, with the Cruiser 700 distinguishing itself through its triple-motor configurations, high combined power output and long claimed range.

Conclusion

The Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 combines rugged off-road styling with plug-in hybrid technology and a range of high-output powertrains. Its five-seat cabin, physical driving controls and family-oriented comfort features support everyday use, while the triple-motor four-wheel-drive variants deliver up to 830 kW of combined system output.

The 1.5-liter two-wheel-drive versions offer the longest claimed range, reaching 305 km on battery power and 1,770 km in combined CLTC driving. With a 47.14 kWh LFP battery and 6C charging support on specified variants, the Cruiser 700 brings substantial electric-driving capability to Geely Galaxy’s first rugged off-road SUV.
