Stellantis is reshaping the future of electrified trucks and SUVs with its STLA Frame platform, an innovative architecture set to underpin the next generation of Ram and Jeep vehicles. Unveiled alongside the electric Ram 1500 REV and plug-in-hybrid Ramcharger pickup trucks, the STLA Frame promises to deliver exceptional versatility, performance, and efficiency. With its ability to accommodate both fully electric and range-extender hybrid powertrains, this platform reflects Stellantis’ bold vision for sustainable mobility.

Specifically designed for full-size, body-on-frame vehicles, the STLA Frame supports models with lengths ranging from 216 to 234 inches and wheelbases between 123.7 and 145.3 inches. The platform’s adaptability makes it an ideal foundation for a variety of vehicles, including Jeep’s Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs.

Its liquid-cooled battery packs, available in capacities from 159.0 kWh to over 200.0 kWh, deliver remarkable range capabilities—up to 500 miles in pure electric configurations and as much as 690 miles with a range-extender hybrid system. Fast charging is another highlight, with 800-volt technology enabling 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes for EVs, while range-extender setups recharge 50 miles in the same timeframe at 175 kW.

The STLA Frame is engineered for performance and resilience, featuring electric drive modules that combine motor, inverter, and gear reducer into a compact unit. With motors producing up to 335 horsepower each, the platform can achieve a blistering zero-to-60 mph sprint in as little as 4.4 seconds. Beyond speed, it excels in utility, offering a towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds and a maximum payload of 2700 pounds. Designed for rugged environments, it supports water fording up to 24 inches and offers adjustable ground clearance between 6.6 and 10.3 inches, enhanced by an available air suspension system.

Crafted from high-strength steel, the STLA Frame balances strength and weight efficiency. A widened center section accommodates the battery pack while reinforced frame rails provide additional protection during side impacts. The inclusion of a full-length belly pan reduces aerodynamic drag, further enhancing range and efficiency. Beyond its electric and hybrid capabilities, the platform is prepared to support traditional internal-combustion engines, hybrid powertrains, and even hydrogen fuel-cell systems, demonstrating Stellantis’ commitment to long-term versatility.

Debuting in the Ram 1500 REV and Ramcharger, which are now expected in early 2025, the STLA Frame sets the stage for a new era of electrified vehicles. As Stellantis continues to expand its STLA platform family, including the upcoming STLA Small for European markets, the company is clearly positioning itself as a leader in the evolution of sustainable automotive technology.
