Hyundai has finally started deliver Hyundai Ioniq 5 to their consumers in the American market. Hyundai previously promised to deliver newest Ioniq 5 unit before closing in 2021.

This makes the Ioniq 5 able to cover even further distances. Initially, the EV car was able to travel 423 km, now the Ioniq 5 is claimed to be able to reach a distance of 480 to 490 km on a single battery charge. Here is Everything You Need To Know About Hyundai Ioniq 5

High Performance

Ioniq 5 is based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). On top of the chassis sits an electric motor as a velocity initiator. Available with 2WD or AWD drive system, the farthest reach or best sprint performance can be chosen. There are two variants: Standard Range 58 kWh or Long Range 72.6 kWh. The combination of the two electric motors provides a combined power of 301 hp and 605 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h completed 5.2 seconds.

Then with rear-wheel drive use the largest battery option. Hyundai claims the Ioniq 5 can travel up to 470-480 km from a single full charge. The calculation method uses WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure). But specifications can change, adjusting to market conditions so that the selling value remains economical. So when it officially circulates in Indonesia, it could be different.

Fast Charging

A multi-charging system is available, capable of switching between 400 V and 800 V systems without the need for an additional adapter. This became the standard. Through a 350 kW charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. Five minutes of charging, the Ioniq 5 can have a range of 100 km. Other flexibility is also provided. The car contains the Vehicle to Load (V2L) function which allows the car to act as a power bank.

Safety Features

To help keep you safe while driving, the Ioniq 5 has Navigation based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) capabilities. Able to control the movement following the speed limit, while adjusting the contours of the road. Not only that, other assistance is inserted such as Highway Drive Assist (HDA), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Lane Keep Assist with Lane Following Assist (LKAS + LFA) and Driver Attention Alert. It’s even safer thanks to an accident prevention tool: the Forward Collision Avoidance System (FCA) which is able to detect cars, pedestrians and cyclists.

Futuristic Cabin

Thanks to the E-GMP platform, the Ioniq 5 has a large amount of space. Undisturbed wheel drive. The floor remains level because the cab area stands above the battery compartment. Free from large transmission humps, coupling axles, let alone exhaust tunnels. He didn’t know all that. Plus a 3,000 mm wheelbase. The Palisade level isn’t that long, obviously having an impact on the perfection of leg room.

The composition of the car floor applies the Living Space theme. Like a walking family room or your own home. Free and certainly not awkward to reach all parts. The center console can be shifted forward or backward. Likewise the seat arrangement, the rear alone can be advanced up to 135 mm. It even feels more at home because the two front seats have footrests. It can lie down and then become a place to rest for a while – maybe while recharging the battery.

The luggage volume of the Ioniq 5 reaches 531 liters when the rear seat is open. When fully folded (have a 60:40 folding method), the volume increases to 1,600 liters. No less practical than Santa Fe. If it’s not enough, there’s still a frunk aka front trunk, aka luggage behind the front hood. The total capacity reaches 57 liters. More than that, a 12.3-inch LCD entertainment facility is installed as a default device.

You are treated to navigation devices, DAB online radio, reverse camera, to the integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphones. Then the excitement is enlivened by interior mood lighting as standard. In addition, a wireless charging device (wireless charger) is also provided.
